HyperCard →
Wouldn’t it be great if Apple came out with something like HyperCard for the iPhone/iPad they would let people put together simple apps? I envision the designer program actually running on the iPad letting you make simple apps that you can pass around to friends.  It would be nice if the apps could target either the iPad or the iPhone.  These new HyperCard apps should probably bypass the...

meaghano: woot. The stories are reprinted as images from the magazine.  I had queued all the links in tabs hoping to add them to Instapaper to read later, but no deal. I wish someone would make some sort of thin computer that I could use to curl up and look at websites like this with.  Maybe someday.

Archives.gov
My mom emailed me today asking about some statement that George W. Bush made while signing the McCain-Feingold act in 2002.  I found links to the press release of the signing, but the links didn’t exist anymore on the new whitehouse.gov.  I tried to search for Bush’s press releases using the search field on whitehouse.gov and couldn’t find anything.  Any record from pre-2009...

Shaving
I recently decided to try out some old-school shaving cream after my last can of Gillette Gel stuff ran out.  I picked up an Omega badger brush and a jar of Taylor of Old Bond Street shaving cream. A few quick impressions: The brush I bought came with a cheap “stand” that lets the brush air out.  It is just the piece of plastic that held the brush in its packaging.  It would be nice...

Wikipedia: Craig Kilborn →
While reading about all this late night talk show nonsense, I wondered what happened to Craig Kilborn?  I looked him up on Wikipedia.  Apparently he hasn’t done anything notable after The Late Late Show that is worth putting in Wikipedia.

Stuff White People Like: #131 Conan O’Brien →
swpl: In 2009, millions of white people took 35 seconds to turn their twitter profiles green, and consequently sent a very powerful message to the leaders of Iran. Their message was that they wanted their friends to know that they would stop at nothing to ensure freedom and democracy for the Iranian people. Thanks in large part to that effort Iran is now completely democratic. With that issue...

I’ve had a Canon SD110 camera for about five years now.  It isn’t anything fancy; just a simple point and shoot camera that I can toss in my pocket.  I took it to Europe with me for three months in 2004.  I brought it along on my honeymoon.  It documented the adventures Erin and I went on for the first 4.5 years of our married life.  It is a good solid camera that took pictures of...

A.V. Club: G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra →
G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra | I Watched This On Purpose | A.V. Club: The training center is, of course, ridiculous. (I like how the Joes seem to be largely staffed by former L’Oréal models.) Hell, the whole idea of G.I. Joe is dumb. A bunch of countries send their best military men and women to a third-party organization with no official ties to any one place—although it’s led by Americans and...
